Fire Alarm Testing

WHAT IS FIRE ALARM TESTING?

Fire Alarm Testing is the testing of the Fire Alarm System in a building. These series of tests ensure compliance with I.S. 3218:2009. They must be carried out on a quarterly basis and on an annual basis. We provide your staff with a schedule for daily and weekly checks of the system.

WHY DO I NEED FIRE ALARM TESTING CARRIED OUT IN MY BUILDING?

All property owners have a legal obligation to commission and maintain the Fire Detection and Alarm System in their premises. Similar to the Testing of Emergency Lighting System regulations, Quarterly Inspection and Annual Tests of the Fire Alarm System must be carried out and records maintained. Lighting system regulations, testing of the fire alarm system must be carried out every 3 months and records maintained

.

WHAT IS INVOLVED IN FIRE ALARM TESTING?

Every quarter, we check the log book to see if any incidents were reported. We test the detection devices and the batteries in the system. We also carry out visual inspection on all call points, detectors and sounders. We records any faults in the log book and carry out repairs without delay. We always check with staff to ensure they are familiar with the daily and weekly checks for the system. To ensure your compliance with I.S. 3218:2009, we will remind you when your re-tests are due every quarter.

FIRE ALARM TESTING SHOULD BE AN INTEGRAL PART OF YOUR HEALTH & SAFETY PROGRAMME FOR YOUR BUSINESS.
